The Visual Arts Center of New Jersey’s Studio School, located in Summit, NJ, offers classes and workshops for artists of all ages and skill levels. Taught by experienced teaching artists, our programs span painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, photography, and more—providing a supportive environment for learning, exploration, and creative growth.

8664 Introduction to Stained Glass
Instructor: Eva Sienkiewicz
Tuesdays, 6:30–9 PM
Come explore the beautiful art of creating stained glass! This class will begin with the basics, such as making straight cuts and assembling a star shape. Students will progress to learning how to cut curves while creating a simple stained glass apple. Once the basic techniques are mastered, students will complete a 12×12-inch artwork of their own design. Working with the instructor, students will learn the techniques made famous by Tiffany, including designing, cutting, foiling, soldering, and finishing. Some materials provided; additional supplies to purchase and bring to class are listed online. This class is taught by an instructor who is bilingual in Polish and English. 8674 NEW! Mindful Movement and Creative Expression

Wednesdays, 6:30–9 PM
Explore the neuroscience of creativity in this immersive class based on the book, Your Brain on Art: How the Arts Transform Us written by Ivy Ross and Susan Magsamen. Each session combines guided discussions with hands-on activities from the book’s reader’s guide—exploring how art engages our sensory systems, enhances emotional well-being, and promotes cognitive flexibility. Experience body mapping, sensory immersion exercises, emotional release through art-making, and flow state exploration. Most materials provided. No art or yoga experience necessary—just curiosity about how creativity transforms our brains and bodies.
