7676 Felted Art: Needle Felting in 2D & 3D

Wednesdays, 9:30 AM–12 PM
Needle felting is a fun fiber technique that is easy to learn and full of possibilities! Through demonstrations and step-by-step instruction, students will transform colorful wool fiber into beautiful tactile felted images and objects. Techniques covered will include how to form basic shapes, layer colors, add details, and more. This class will explore creating landscapes, abstract works, and sculptural 3D pieces. Some project examples include forest animals and succulents. Also, students will be able to incorporate found objects and mixed media into their creations. Students are encouraged to come to class with their own ideas of what they wish to make from felt. Some materials provided.

7713 Introduction to Sewing
Instructor: Jessica Garber
Thursdays, 3:30–6 PM
In this class, students will learn the basics of sewing by creating their own one–of–a–kind fashion accessory. Students will have the choice to make tote bags, pouches, belts, and more! The instructor will provide demonstrations on how to enhance accessories by incorporating pockets, zippers, and snaps. No prior sewing experience necessary. Some materials provided.

7742 The Basics of Batik
Instructor: Heidi SanFilippo
Thursdays, 6:30–9 PM
Have you ever wanted to experiment with dying fabric? Then this class is for you! Students will use hot wax, dye, glue, and more to create an individualized piece. The instructor will provide a variety of demonstrations on finishing techniques such as image transfers and dye designs.
