The Visual Arts Center of New Jersey’s Studio School, located in Summit, NJ, offers classes and workshops for artists of all ages and skill levels. 8339 NEW! Snowman’s Cozy Cabin (ages 6–11)
Instructor: Vanessa Lopez
Let it snow—inside the art studio! In this cozy and creative workshop, students will transform a wooden birdhouse into a magical snowman’s home. Using paint, model magic, and tons of imagination, they’ll build a snowy diorama complete with a snow family playing in the yard and mini snowballs for extra winter fun. Perfect for young artists who love to build, sculpt, and tell stories through art!

Celebrate Valentine’s Day with glitter, gems, and creativity! In this fun and festive workshop, students will paint a heart on canvas and decorate it with beads, buttons, bows, jewels, and more to create a shimmering masterpiece full of love and personality. A perfect way to get crafty and celebrate the season of kindness, friendship, and sparkle!

Get creative and crafty in this fun–filled workshop where students will design their very own 3D beaded plant sculpture—complete with a hand–painted pot! Using wire, beads, and sparkling gems, these young artists will twist and shape their own imaginative plants, then decorate a pot to match their creation. This hands–on workshop is perfect for kids who love to build, bead, and paint.

Let your child’s creativity shine! In this hands on workshop, students will design and decorate their very own custom wooden wall hanging—personalized with their name! Whether they’re into outer space, princess castles, dinosaurs, sports, or something totally unique, they’ll have the freedom to bring their favorite theme to life. This project encourages self–expression and personal style, making it a one–of–a–kind keepsake they’ll be proud to hang in their room for years to come.

8361 NEW! Artistic Gameboards (ages 9–12)
Instructor: Heidi SanFilippo
In this exciting one-day workshop, young creators will design and build their very own board game from scratch! From inventing a fun theme and drawing colorful game boards to crafting unique playing pieces and writing creative rules, students will use their imaginations every step of the way. Along the journey, they’ll practice storytelling, problem-solving, and collaboration while exploring art materials like markers, paints, and collage supplies. By the end of the workshop, each child will have a one–of–a–kind game to play with friends and family—complete with their own personal artistic touch. Please note that this workshop is three hours long. Students are welcome to bring a snack with them and will have a 15-minute break during the workshop (food not provided.)

Create your own 3D Leprechaun Cottage complete with a rainbow and a pot of gold! Students will paint a wooden house and use paint, Model Magic, glitter, and other goodies to create a leprechaun cottage that you can use as decoration for years!
