The Visual Arts Center of New Jersey’s Studio School, located in Summit, NJ, offers classes and workshops for artists of all ages and skill levels. Taught by experienced teaching artists, our programs span painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, photography, and more—providing a supportive environment for learning, exploration, and creative growth.

Welcome to the ultimate hands–on art adventure! In this creative and colorful class, students will design and build their very own toy playland—a dream world where toys can jump into a ball pit, scale a rock wall, climb through play areas, and even visit mini arcade games! They will use a variety of materials like cardboard, wood, paint, model magic, and more to bring their ideas to life. Each day will be packed with imaginative building, painting, sculpting, and storytelling as kids transform everyday materials into a custom–designed miniature world for their favorite toys.

Let your creativity climb to new heights! In this fun and hands-on 5-week class, students will build a detailed treehouse playset for their toys using cardboard, papier-mâché, and other craft materials. Together, we’ll create cozy spaces including a living room, bedroom, and outdoor area — all nestled in a magical treehouse setting. Students will design, construct, and decorate each room, learning crafting and building techniques along the way.

Get ready to dive into a world of imagination and hands-on fun! In Art Explorers, students will experiment with 4–5 different art media, including paint, clay, collage, and more. Each week brings a new project designed to spark creativity, build confidence, and encourage self-expression. Through playful exploration of materials and techniques, these young artists will create unique masterpieces while developing their artistic skills in a relaxed and encouraging environment.
