Kid Ceramics Classes
7386 Clay Critters (ages 5–7)
Instructor: Katie Truk
Tuesdays, 4–5:30 PM
Does your child like getting their hands dirty and love animals? This is their class! Working with clay will strengthen your child’s understanding of gravity, science, and nature—plus it is super fun! Different sculptural methods will be introduced as we recreate our favorite members of the animal kingdom—a wonderful way to have fun and learn about animal anatomy.

7387 Ceramics Fundamentals (ages 10–13)
Instructor: Shelley Rosen Howard
Tuesdays, 4–6 PM
Create pieces by hand-building, throwing, or a combination of both techniques. Students will be guided through a variety of methods to build, decorate, and glaze their ceramic projects. This class will provide an opportunity to explore, get messy, and have creative fun! Designed for any skill level, this class is a great introduction to ceramic fundamentals.

7405 Creative Ceramics (ages 10–15)
Instructor: Denise Banaag
Wednesdays, 4–6 PM
Call it a clay day! Gain a solid foundation for wheel throwing, and learn hand-building techniques such as slab, pinch, and sculpture. Glaze and texture ceramics in this inspiring atmosphere as well.

7428 Hooray for Clay! (ages 6–9)
Instructor: Melissa Krishnamurthy
Thursdays, 4–5:30 PM
Do you like to be creative and get messy? Then let’s create with clay! Students will learn hand-building techniques such as pinch–pots, coil, press–mold, and slabs to build fun projects. Projects will change each session, so repeat students are welcome.

7429 Introduction to Ceramics (ages 9–12)
Instructor: Shelley Rosen Howard
Thursdays, 4–5:30 PM
In this class, students will explore basic wheel–throwing techniques such as centering, opening, pulling, and shaping clay to make bowls. While the emphasis of this class is using the pottery wheel, students will also create a variety of pieces using hand-building techniques.
