7985 Printmaking On and Off the Press

Tuesdays, 9:30 AM–12 PM
Explore the many possibilities of printmaking in this class! Printing processes both on and off the press, such as monoprinting, drypoint etching, block printing, and collagraphs, will be covered. Class time will consist of demonstrations, discussions, working on the presses, and one-on-one instruction. Most materials provided.

This class will introduce students to a variety of printing techniques such as monotypes, monoprints, collagraphy, and linocuts. There will be an emphasis on process and experimentation. Those who have more experience with printmaking are welcome. Some materials provided. Additional materials to purchase will be discussed during the first class.

8034 NEW! Introduction to Gel Plate Printmaking

Wednesdays, 4–6:30 PM
Learn the popular art form of gel plate monoprinting in this colorful and creative class! Gel plate printing utilizes a reusable soft gel plate and acrylic paint to create beautiful prints without needing a press. Learn the basics of gel plate printing, including layering colors and patterns, adding visual textures, masking, using positive and negative space, and pulling prints. Besides finished artwork, prints can be used as part of other craft,s including collage and scrapbooking. Most materials provided.

8041 Intermediate/Advanced Silkscreen

Wednesdays, 7–9:30 PM
Learn the basics of silkscreen or take your practice to the next level! This class will explore stencil-based printing that can be done at home and will focus on exposing drawn images onto silkscreens. Students will learn every step of the process, plus tips and tricks for making multi-layered silkscreen prints. Class time will include demonstrations, one-on-one work with the instructor, group discussions, and creating a new body of work or experimenting with new ideas. Some materials provided. Additional supplies to be discussed during the first class.

8051 Exploring Etching in Color and Black & White
Instructor: Russ Spitkovsky
Thursdays, 9:30 AM–12 PM
Explore traditional and contemporary etching methods, including monotype and monoprinting. Experience this beautiful and versatile art form for yourself! Some materials provided. Additional supplies to be discussed during the first class. This class is taught by an instructor who is bilingual in Russian and English.
