8020 Felted Art: Needle Felting in 2D & 3D

Wednesdays, 9:30 AM–12 PM
Needle felting is a fun fiber technique that is easy to learn and full of possibilities! Through demonstrations and step-by-step instruction, students will transform colorful wool fiber into beautiful tactile felted images and objects. Techniques covered will include how to form basic shapes, layer colors, add details, and more. This class will explore creating landscapes, abstract works, and sculptural 3D pieces. Some project examples include forest animals and succulents. Also, students will be able to incorporate found objects and mixed media into their creations. Students are encouraged to come to class with their own ideas of what they wish to make with felt. Some materials provided.

Thursdays, 12:30–3 PM
Do you already know the basics about crochet? Have you put down your hooks for a while, but you would like to start again? Have you found a pattern you would like to make, but you aren’t sure how to read the pattern? Then this is the class for you! Students will unpack their projects and give them a jumpstart! During the class sessions, students will reignite their love for crochet while translating their patterns into the beautiful handmade pieces they knew it could be, or jumpstart their skills with some unique and newer crochet stitches! This class is made for intermediate students who already have some experience and skills in crocheting.
