2026 Summer Art Camp for Tweens (ages 10–12)

Monday–Friday, 10 AM–3 PM
This offering is for young artists ready to graduate to the next level of Art Camp, where they will explore art media and techniques in greater depth during two daily studio sessions. Our talented teaching artists will guide tweens in developing their own personal style while they learn and refine their art skills.

Printmaking and New! Summer Art Medium Sampler
June 15–19, 10 AM–3 PM
Printmaking: In this unique camp, we will explore various printmaking techniques such as etching, monotype and relief printing. Students will have the opportunity to use the professional etching presses, as well as learn techniques to continue what they learned at home. This camp also has an eco-art approach: we will focus on the newest process of Tetra-Pak etchings by using upcycled food cartons and transforming them into one-of-a-kind prints.

Fiber Arts and Everything Clay
June 22–26, 10 AM–3 PM
Fiber Arts: Vibrant fibers and textures surround us—explore the wonderful world of fiber arts! Campers will create several skill-building projects during this exciting week of camp. A variety of fiber techniques will be visited and may include weaving, hand sewing, embroidery, felting, pom-pom making, and more. Let the creativity unfold!
Everything Clay: This camp is perfect for campers looking to explore various types of clay. During the week, we will use the pottery wheel to throw and embellish a functional ceramic piece that will be glazed and fired in the kiln. We will also learn the techniques for working with paper clay, from building an armature to give the clay structure and different ways to decorate their creations using paint, decoupage, or other materials. Finally, we will explore polymer clay by making everyday objects in miniature form.

Watercolor Explorations and Character Design (4 days)
June 29–July 2, 10 AM–3 PM
Watercolor Exploration: Watercolor is a classic painting medium that builds upon drawing skills and incorporates color theory. The foundations of watercolor painting and color mixing will be explored as campers are introduced to a variety of techniques, including basic washes, layering of paints, and how to create strong compositions with the interplay of dark and light values.
Character Design: During this week, campers will learn to design their own character(s) for comic books, graphic novels, or cartoons. They will focus on personality and expression, plus learn anatomy and posing using the human body as reference. We will also have a chance to explore costume design for their character. All of this will come together in a project that features the character(s) they created. 

Essential Drawing & Painting Techniques and Comics, Cartoons & Anime
July 6–10, 10 AM–3 PM
Essential Drawing & Painting Techniques: This camp is perfect for campers looking to develop the foundational skills of drawing and painting. Campers will use their observational skills and gain familiarity with diverse media, such as graphite, charcoal, acrylics, and watercolors, through drawing exercises that may include gesture drawings, blind contours, and contour drawings. Linear perspective, color theory, and building form with light and shadow will also be covered as campers render their artistic creations.
Comics, Cartoons & Anime: Calling all comic, cartoon, and anime lovers! Campers will explore drawing popular characters and work on simple and effective techniques for creating their own character concepts. Master a unique style of creating cartoon, anime, and comic art.

Everything Clay and Jewelry Design
July 13–17, 10 AM–3 PM
Everything Clay: This camp is perfect for campers looking to explore various types of clay. During the week, we will use the pottery wheel to throw and embellish a functional ceramic piece that will be glazed and fired in the kiln. We will also learn the techniques for working with paper clay, from building an armature to give the clay structure and different ways to decorate their creations using paint, decoupage, or other materials. Finally, we will explore polymer clay by making everyday objects in miniature form.
Jewelry Design: Make wearable art! Campers will experiment with jewelry-making techniques to create pendants and bracelets of their own original designs. After starting with a sketch, the instructor will guide campers on using the best materials to create their vision. Projects may include, but are not limited to, wrapped wire pendants, polymer clay canes, and recycled paper beads.

Paper Art and Painting with Acrylics
July 13–17, 10 AM–3 PM
Paper Art: During this week, campers will make art using a variety of different kinds of paper. Students will learn to fold paper, use pulp to paint, explore quilling techniques, collage with printed material, and build sculptures with paper. Students will learn how to use paint, fibers, and other materials to enhance their paper creations.
Painting with Acrylics: Have fun exploring this versatile medium. Campers will learn how to block in a composition and see it come to life as they add paint to their canvas. They will learn the fundamentals of painting, including brush techniques, how to create light and shadow, and color mixing. Campers will also learn how to handle the materials properly. Campers should wear clothes that can get messy—acrylics don’t wash out of clothes!

Everything Clay and Collage & Mixed Media
July 20–24, 10 AM–3 PM
Everything Clay: This camp is perfect for campers looking to explore various types of clay. During the week, we will use the pottery wheel to throw and embellish a functional ceramic piece that will be glazed and fired in the kiln. We will also learn the techniques for working with paper clay, from building an armature to give the clay structure, and different ways to decorate their creations using paint, decoupage, or other materials. Finally, we will explore polymer clay by making everyday objects in miniature form.
Collage & Mixed Media: Mixing it up is what collage and mixed media is all about! Campers will have the opportunity to use a variety of supplies such as paint, patterned paper, fabric, fibers, and more. During this camp week, we will learn about shape, color, texture, and light, all while creating both representational and abstract works of art. 

New! The Art of Illustrative Storytelling and Jewelry
July 20–24, 10 AM–3 PM
New! The Art of Illustrative Storytelling: In this camp, a picture is worth far more than a thousand words! Campers will learn how to communicate a story, tone, and feeling in their art without any written text, using artistic techniques such as composition, limited color palettes, shape language, and color theory. This camp is perfect for tweens who want to bring their ideas and characters to life through their artwork. Using a diverse array of media, including pencils, colored pencils, inks, and colored inks, students will craft characters and narrative illustrations that jump off the page and speak for themselves.

Art Journaling and Drawing with Pen & Ink
July 27–31, 10 AM–3 PM
Art Journaling: Art journaling is a wonderful habit for everyone! Keeping a journal that contains one’s inspirations, frustrations, and dreams is a way to creatively process everyday life. Campers will make their own journal with simple bookbinding techniques and fill its pages both inside and outside of camp. Campers will be encouraged to share their journaling journey during camp.
Drawing with Pen & Ink: From quick sketches to detailed drawings, this camp will teach the tips and tricks of pen & ink! Campers will explore techniques such as loose sketching, cross-hatching, and stippling as they learn to create contrast with texture and ink. We will also learn to create softer drawings using ink and a brush. Some basic drawing skills will also be covered.

Papermaking & Mixed Media: Open up a world of possibilities with mixed media! In this camp, campers will start by learning how to make paper and then use it as the basis of their mixed media project. They will learn techniques such as layering paper, monoprinting, and collage. Campers will have the choice to use interesting materials such as yarn, fabric, dried flowers, pages from old books, paint, and more to create their own mixed media artwork.

Assemblage Sculpture and Essential Drawing & Painting
August 3–7, 10 AM–3 PM
Assemblage Sculpture: Campers will transform everyday items into expressive, personal sculptures! Imagine all the artistic possibilities in combining materials such as paper, plastic, clay, and wire with found objects. Through demonstrations and hands-on practice, campers will learn various techniques to manipulate the materials and create one-of-a-kind sculptures.

We will also learn the techniques for working with paper clay, from building an armature to give the clay structure and different ways to decorate their creations using paint, decoupage, or other materials. Finally, we will explore polymer clay by making everyday objects in miniature form.
Comic Book & Anime Special Projects: Campers will learn to draw their favorite comic book and anime characters, exploring a variety of cartooning techniques. Character construction, inking, lettering, shading, and other methods and styles will be touched on as well. Projects will showcase the campers work using foam board, chipboard, Bristol paper, and other supplies.

New! Sketchbook Week and Collage, Mixed Media & Masks
August 10–14, 10 AM–3 PM
Sketchbook Week: This camp is perfect for campers looking to develop the foundational skills of drawing and painting. Campers will hone their observational skills and gain familiarity with diverse media, such as graphite, charcoal, and acrylics, and will also experiment with mixed-media creations! They will end the week with a sketchbook filled with dynamic gesture drawings, life drawings, blind contours, and contour drawings. Linear and atmospheric perspective, color theory, and building form with light and shadow will also be covered as campers render their artistic creations.
Collage, Mixed Media & Mask Making: Mixing it up is what collage and mixed media is all about! Campers will have the opportunity to use a variety of supplies such as paint, patterned paper, fabric, fibers, and more. During this camp week, students will learn about shape, color, texture, and light, all while creating both representational and abstract works of art. Our culminating project will be putting these skills together to create amazing papier-mâché masks!

August 17-21, 10 AM–3 PM

New! Portrait Drawing and Revamped Fashion Camp
August 17–21, 10 AM–3 PM
New! Portrait Drawing: Want to improve your people-drawing skills? This camp is for artists at any level who want to jump into the world of portraiture. We will learn to draw the head from every angle, identify the planes of the head, and capture the likeness of any subject. Possible projects include self-portraits and celebrity portraits. We may even dip our toes into the art of caricature and life drawing! Campers will be working in a variety of mediums, including graphite pencils, charcoal, and colored pencils.
Revamped Fashion Camp: Dive into the world of fashion, exploring inspiring designers, standout historical looks, and the creativity behind recycled design. Campers will have a chance to sketch fashion ideas as they make mood boards to help fine-tune their fashion vision. Campers are encouraged to bring in a piece of clothing or two that can be revamped and made into something expressing their unique style. Multiple sewing and embellishing techniques will be covered while we create wearable art! Perfect for budding designers who love color, texture, and imagination—this camp is where fashion truly comes to life!

Our flexible extended care options make busy family schedules easier while also giving students more time to create and explore. Extended care is a welcoming space to start or end the camp day with free-choice art activities and games in a fun and relaxed environment. Flexible, affordable, and supervised by caring staff, these options are the perfect extension of the camp day. You can purchase single days or full-week care starting at 8 AM and ending at 5:30 PM. The following options are available:
