Membership Committee

The Visual Arts Center of New Jersey’s Members Committee is looking for new candidates. The Members Committee’s mission is to provide opportunities for students and members to display their art to the public. The exhibits should showcase the quality and caliber of each participant’s work as well as provide a rewarding and festive experience for both the artists and community.

The Committee meets about 5 times per year to assist with:

  • Selecting artwork for the exhibitions in the VACNJ community galleries, which are located both within the Arts Center as well as at the Summit Public Library. These exhibitions are opportunities for our members and local artists to exhibit their work (see Community Galleries – Visual Arts Center of New Jersey).
  • Organizing and working at the annual Members Art Show & Collectors Week (see 2025 Members Art Show & Collectors Week – Visual Arts Center of New Jersey).
  • Volunteering for the annual Arts & Cars Summit Arts Festival.
  • Providing additional support as needed for community gallery exhibits and the artist application process.
  • Selecting new Committee members.

Applications are due Sunday, February 15, 2026. Click here to apply. If you have questions, contact Executive Director Melanie Cohn at mcohn@artcenternj.org.

Juror Bio
Meghan Roghanchi
is the Founder and Curator of RAM Gallery in Summit, NJ. She holds a BFA in Visual Arts from Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of the Arts, where she studied under influential professors like Lauren Ewing, John Yau, and Rudy Serra; exploring materials, presentation, and the vital artist-patron relationship.

Art has been a constant thread throughout Meghan’s life, from childhood experiments with found objects, which sparked an early love for sculpture, to immersive college years filled with creative collaboration and gallery visits that opened her eyes to diverse artistic voices. In her mid-twenties, she began collecting, drawn to street-level encounters with artists in New York City’s parks.

Meghan channeled her lifelong passion for art and collecting into founding RAM Gallery in 2023. She created a space that bridges creative practice and collecting, offering artists a supportive space with lively opening receptions, curated events, and intimate studio visits for select collectors. At RAM, the focus is on fostering genuine connections—turning strangers into collectors and collectors into friends—while making art approachable and enjoyable for everyone. Meghan believes art should inspire confidence, spark conversations, and encourage creative experimentation.
