The Visual Arts Center of New Jersey is partnering with The Film Society of Summit for a series of art films in May. This virtual Sip and Cinema: Art Edition will take place on Zoom every other Friday from 5–6 PM. VACNJ curator Mary Birmingham will lead our next happy hour discussion on Friday, May 15th about a film by Exhibitions on Screen: The Artist’s Garden: American Impressionism. To pair with the viewing, we suggest an American wine that pairs with a garden-in-bloom: For whites, try a New York State Finger Lakes Riesling, a Pinot Gris from Oregon, or even a Viognier from Virginia. If you are looking for a floral red, go with a Finger Lakes Pinot Noir or Oregon Gamay (www.cambridgewinesnj.com).

Please watch the film at your leisure prior to the discussion. Visit the Film Society of Summit’s website for instructions to rent and stream the film (www.summitfilmsociety.com). A portion of all ticket sales will be donated to FLAG – Summit’s ‘Front Line Appreciation Group. Art Center members can get a discount on the rental by using the code “VACSipCin” at checkout.

The Zoom virtual discussion is free to join. Please use this link to register for The Artist’s Garden: American Impressionism Sip and Cinema: Art Edition Zoom Discussion.
