Professional Development for Teachers: Mixed Media with Kat Block

Join us for a hands-on professional development workshop with mixed-media collage artist Kat Block! Participants will begin with a guided tour of the community gallery, where they’ll explore a range of Kat’s collage artworks, before creating a mixed-media collage of their own using paper, glue, scissors, and more.

In the first session, participants will learn composition and layering techniques while creating a mandala collage with origami paper. They’ll then apply those skills to design a beach-themed collage using torn, cut, and pasted papers—including scrap, tissue, metallic, pastel, and painted watercolor varieties. Kat will provide reference images, demonstrations, and individualized guidance throughout.

This workshop is a wonderful opportunity to collaborate, learn new techniques, expand your skills, and enjoy a little taste of summer!
