Artist’s Statement:

In her first exhibition, artist Claudia Munne shares her deep connection to the ocean. To Claudia, the fluid and dynamic forms of waves represent change and the constant flow of emotions, energy, and creativity within each of us. To create this sense of movement, Claudia uses encaustics, or hot wax painting. Her treatment of this medium creates rich and feathery textures that mimic both the density of water and airiness of ocean spray. Presenting the ocean from several vantage points, El Mar y La Ona demonstrates the expressive potential of both encaustics and the natural world.
