6592 Art Appreciation: A Deeper Look at the Renaissance
Instructor: James Adkins
Thursdays, 7–8:30 PM
Join lecturer James Adkins to explore the Renaissance from its origins in Tuscany to its spread across Europe. The roughly two centuries that make up the period we now call the Renaissance, which marks the beginning of the modern world, are perhaps the most productive and important in Western Art. In this course, we will take a closer look not only at some of art’s most important and enduring figures and works but at the cultural and philosophical influences that gave rise to the period.
