Study with Sue Sachs who is a working artist, master metalworker, and instructor of over 40 years at the Art Center. Learn jewelry and metalsmithing techniques through demonstrations, discussion, and individualized instruction using silver, copper, brass, or a combination of the three. Start by designing your own piece and learn core techniques such as sawing, filing, soldering, texturing, and polishing to bring it to life. Students will be led through a skills-based curriculum, enabling them to learn and grow their skills at their own level and pace. Beginners are welcome. Please bring a sketchbook to the first class to work on your design and take notes. Other materials will be discussed in class.
