SPRING SEMESTER 2023
Adult Printmaking Classes
5965 Contemporary Printmaking
Instructor: David DiMarchi
Mondays, 9:30 AM–12 PM
This course will cover a variety of printmaking techniques, with an emphasis on monoprint, intaglio, relief, and mixed processes. With a push towards experimentation, students will be challenged to create new works toward the creation of a series of artist books, suites of prints, or new bodies of work. We will fluctuate between direct group instruction and demonstration and individual instruction and ample open studio work time. This allows students to learn new processes/techniques and explore them through hands-on work while seeking advice from the instructor and other students. Students will finish this course with the creation of a new art object: artist book, suite of prints, or new body of works.
10 sessions: 4/3–6/12 (no class on 5/29)
