Kid Online Classes & Workshops

To participate in kid online classes, students need to have access to a computer, tablet, or phone with internet and access to Zoom. The class materials fee covers a specially curated art supply kit which will be available for pickup at the Art Center the week prior to the start of class. At the end of the class, the kits are yours to keep for continued artmaking.

3654 NEW! Little Artists’ Art Sampler (ages 4–5) – online class
Instructor: Katie Truk
Mondays, 1–2 PM
This class offers a taste of various mediums such as drawing, painting, and sculpture geared towards younger artists’ abilities. Expose youngsters to different artistic expressions and strengthen existing foundations. Creativity and fun are highly emphasized making for a comfortable and encouraging environment for budding artists. Each medium is experimented with in a different method and/or combination each semester so students may repeat this class multiple times.
10 sessions: 9/21–11/30 (no class on 9/28)

Mondays, 3:30–5 PM
We feature various media such as drawing, painting, ceramics, and sculpture. Beginning artists try different artistic expressions or strengthen existing foundations, allowing for experimentation and growth. Each session has a different method or combination, so repeat students are welcome.
10 sessions: 9/21–11/30 (no class on 9/28)

3656 NEW! Drawn to Drawing: The Young Artist’s Sketchbook (ages 7–10) – online class
Instructor: Katie Truk
Mondays, 6–7 PM
Does your child draw all the time? Like a sport, drawing is a skill that improves with practice. This class will build upon basic drawing skills, such as contour lines and shading, to give students confidence in their abilities. In addition a sketchbook will be part of the supplies given to students for additional, although not mandatory, practice at home (fun and creativity are always the main priority!) to help reinforce lessons and develop skills learned in class.

3721 Upcycled Art (ages 9–12) – online class
Instructor: Alicia Cotter
Thursdays, 6–7:30 PM
Upcycling is an art trend that utilizes items that would normally go to waste or be recycled. Students will use newspapers, magazines, old books, corrugated cardboard, plastic water bottles, and discarded copy paper to create art and help save the planet! Projects will include newspaper origami, papier-mâché bowls, woven placemats, paper-bead jewelry, picture frames, plastic-bottle fruit, and more.
10 sessions: 9/24–12/3 (no class on 11/26)
