Do your children like getting their hands dirty? Do they love animals? This is their class! Working with clay will strengthen your child’s understanding of gravity, science, and nature—plus it is super fun! Different sculptural methods will be introduced as we recreate our favorite members of the animal kingdom; a wonderful way to have fun and learn about animal anatomy.

Specialize in ceramics! Play with mud while you learn to make wheel-thrown bowls, mugs, and more in this introductory pottery class. After you throw, trim, and glaze your work, take home pottery you will be proud of!

Wednesdays, 6–8 PM
Are you a fan of fantasy fiction, films, and anime? Join Doug Baron on a fantastic journey with popular characters from Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, Fullmetal Alchemist, and more. Learn how to draw fantasy classics such as dragons, unicorns, and other mythical creatures. Students will work in a variety of media such as acrylic paint, India ink, charcoal, and pastel.

Do you like to be creative and get messy? Then let’s create with clay! Students will learn handbuilding techniques such as pinch-pots, coil, press-mold, and slabs to build fun projects. Projects will change each session, so repeat students are welcome.

3683 Introduction to the Pottery Wheel (ages 9–12)

Thursdays, 4–5:30 PM
Take the wheel in this introductory thrown-pottery class. Explore basic wheel-throwing techniques such as centering, opening, pulling, and shaping clay. Students will learn how to make functional forms such as bowls and mugs and will also learn how to decorate and glaze their pieces to finish them.

3651 The Art of Drawing (ages 11–13)

Saturdays, 10–11:30 AM
Draw with detail. Learn the fundamentals of drawing using graphite, charcoal powders, toned paper, and Conté pencil to explore topics and gain skills. In this relaxed class, learn key skills through in-depth demonstrations. Practice drawing different types of fabric texture and patterns as well as metallic and glass objects. Students will also draw a live, clothed model.

3652 Drawing & Painting the Next Steps (ages 9–12)

This class is for students looking to take the next step in developing their skills and artistic training. The first part of the class will focus on exercises in charcoal and graphite of various subjects (including drawing from clothed models) focusing on texture, form, proportion, and value. The second part of the class will focus on techniques of painting in acrylic including color theory, brush work, and styles of painting.

3716 Design & Decorate Your Own Dollhouse (ages 6–10)

Saturdays, 2–4 PM
Create your own modern dollhouse complete with furniture, wallpaper, and finishes using sturdy cardboard, wood, papier-mâché, paint, and so much more. Design and build furniture; add wallpaper, flooring, and tile. The possibilities are endless!

3717 NEW! Create Your Own Superhero Headquarters (ages 6–10)

Saturdays, 2–4 PM
Make your own awesome superhero headquarters in this exciting new class! Use sturdy cardboard, fabric, paint, Model Magic, and more to create a one-of-a-kind superhero lair. Each headquarters will include a lounge, a surveillance room/lab, a garage, and even a helipad! Students will also decorate and make all the furniture for their superhero headquarters.

3610 Create Your Own 3D Haunted House (ages 6–10)
Instructor: Vanessa Lopez
Calling all ghouls and ghosts! Come make your own 3D haunted house just in time for Halloween! First, paint a wooden bird house to look like an eerie house in the woods. Then use paint, Model Magic, glitter, and more to make spooky details for a unique haunted house that you can use as a special Halloween decoration for years.

3611 Create Your Own 3D Dinosaur Land (ages 6–10)
Instructor: Vanessa Lopez
Create your own 3D prehistoric land filled with dinosaurs! On the first day, create papier mâché volcano and paper towel tube trees. On the second day, paint your creations and make dinosaurs to roam your new land.

3612 NEW! Create Your Own 3D Holiday House (ages 6–10)
Instructor: Vanessa Lopez
Create your own 3D holiday house in this new workshop! Students will paint and decorate a wooden birdhouse and attach it to a wood base. They will then make Model Magic snowmen, trees, presents, and more to decorate their houses. Makes a wonderful holiday keepsake!
