6439 Art Appreciation: Masters of the Baroque: Bernini & Caravaggio

Thursdays, 7–8:30 PM
Few artists typify their age as well as Bernini and Caravaggio do for the Baroque. Each redefined their respective fields of sculpture and painting. Their works—filled with drama, theatricality, tragedy, and passion—continue to influence artists of all stripes to this day. This course will explore the artists’ lives, times, and greatest works.

6441 Achieving the Magical Look In Landscapes

Fridays, 10 AM–12:30 PM
Paint luminous landscapes! With engaging lectures and demonstrations on value, atmosphere, color mixing, composition, and dynamic light effects, learn how to turn simple landscape photographs into luminous landscape paintings. You can create magical, light-filled landscapes that pop on canvas with the skills you will acquire in this class.
