Land, Sea & Skyscapes
November 18. 2018–January 20, 2019
Through a lifetime of rich art experiences, I eventually evolved into a painter. Experiences as an art student at Purdue University, as a collector of regional art while moving around our country, as a curator dealing with New York galleries and museums, as a museum board member, as a fundraiser, and as a volunteer for the arts, science, history and preservation, have all given me a rich and valuable background that I now use to inform my paintings of the world as I see it.
The focus of my work—acrylic paintings on canvas—is three-fold. I paint landscapes, seascapes, and skyscapes interpreted from my personal photography during my world travels. My still life paintings explore intriguing shadows, palettes, and textures. And for fun, there is my Rooster Series.
My paintings have been included in shows at AT&T, The Morris Museum, The Summit Art Center, and now The Visual Arts Center of New Jersey. Since 2011, I have had four extensive one-person shows in the Art League of the Chathams’ Lundt-Glover Gallery. My work is in collections in CA, FL, LA, NH, NJ, NM, NY, NC, PA, SC, TX and VA.—Sally Abbott
