SUMMARY:Fall Exhibitions Opening
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Friday\, October 2\, 6:30–8:30 PM for the opening of our fall exhibitions:\n\nPrecious & Temporary\nSteady Hands for Wandering Eyes\nTerms of Endearment\nMorning Glory\n\n\nEvening Schedule\n\n4–5 PM Daylight Hours Preview (Refreshments will not be served at the Daylight Preview)\n6:30 PM Opening Begins\n8:30 PM Evening Ends\n\nRSVP Here \nAbout the Exhibitions\nPrecious & Temporary | Main Gallery\nThis group exhibition looks at family memory as a living material rather than a fixed record. The show includes the works of Nick D’Ornellas\, Nazli Efe\, Colby Lamson-Gordon\, Tone Miller\, and Andina Marie Osorio. These five artists work across photography\, sculpture\, video\, textiles\, and installation\, drawing on domestic objects\, personal photographs\, inherited customs\, and multigenerational archives.\nSteady Hands for Wandering Eyes | Mitzi and Warren Eisenberg Gallery\nIn this exhibition\, filmmaker Chantal Feitosa-Desouza analyzes the screen as both a tool of witness and a site of limitation. At a moment when complex events are routinely compressed into clips\, headlines\, and rapidly circulating images\, Feitosa-Desouza asks viewers to meditate with stories that cannot be contained in a single frame.\nTerms of Endearment | Marité and Joe Robinson Strolling Gallery I\nThis exhibition follows the many roles photography has played within\nGeoffrey Biddle’s family over decades. Photographs made by his parents\, pictures from his childhood\, and images of his children and grandchildren trace Biddle’s changing position within a multigenerational family history. Cutting\, sequencing\, and returning to these photographs\, he treats the family album as an active form shaped by repetition\, distance\, and conversation.\nMorning Glory | Stair-gazing Gallery\nHilliary Gabryel will show her newly commissioned sculpture Morning Glory in the return of the Art Center’s Stair-gazing Gallery. Gabryel examines aspirational luxury and utilizes mass-produced objects to reflect this crucial part of contemporary American consumer culture.
