Irene Rousseau: Stretching the Space
Marité & Joe Robinson Strolling Gallery II
April 11–June 13

Irene Rousseau, Visual Symphony: Stretching the Space, 2021, Oil on canvas, pen, and ink
Stretching the Space represents transition and change as an expression of nature and the environment. The works begin with a geometric concept on a two-dimensional plane. They are a sequence of numbers that are combined to stretch the space, and their overlapping patterns result in subdivided spaces, color shifts, and fragmentation, disguising the original geometry.
