March 15, 2020
We have been closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation as it unfolds. At this time, in accordance with recommendations and guidelines from the CDC, we have decided to close to the public. To date, there have been no reports of any cases connected to the Art Center and we did not make this decision lightly. But the well-being and safety of our students, guests, staff, and the larger community will always be our greatest concern.
On Monday, March 16, the building will be open from 11 AM–2 PM only for students or faculty who need to retrieve personal items. We ask that if you are not feeling well, you stay home and do not come to the Art Center. From Monday at 2 PM until at least April 6, the building will be closed to the public. We will re-evaluate our opening date based on state and local guidance at the time.
How does this affect my winter class? We are aware that several winter classes had makeup dates that have not yet occurred. Due to the timing of this situation, we, unfortunately, will not be able to hold makeup classes.
How does this affect my spring registration? Spring Break Art Camp has been canceled, and any registered students will be refunded. Spring New Student Nights are also canceled. We are currently modifying plans for the spring semester. There will be a delayed start for spring classes, and as soon as new dates are confirmed for each class, registered students will be notified.
As this is an unprecedented situation, we thank you for your support and understanding. Please visit artcenternj.org and Facebook for updates.
We hope you stay well and we look forward to seeing you at the Art Center in the future.
