Gain a good foundation for throwing on the wheel, focusing on centering and pulling up the clay. Hand building techniques such as slab, pinch, and sculpture will also be covered. Students will experiment with multiple media such as pencil, charcoal, paints, and any other medium they feel comfortable in. Students will attain a broader understanding of how light and shadow defines 3-dimensional objects and how to place them in an atmosphere. Experimentation is encouraged! All levels welcome. Special 6 week class. Working with acrylic paint on canvas boards, students will learn various paint application techniques. In order to learn about color theory, demonstrations will be shown on how to mix colors. Through the use of still life and photographs, students will be able to fully interpret a subject in color using acrylic paint. Composition and drawing elements will be addressed as well. Experimentation is encouraged with other types of paints such as watercolor and oils! All levels. Request a materials list. Minimum Enrollment: 10

Special 6 week class. In this class, aspects of building a portfolio will be addressed. This class is perfect for students interested in pursuing art in college or simply starting a serious artist\'s portfolio. Different examples will be shown on what should be in a standard portfolio. Each week students will create and refine all aspects of a portfolio, including black and white and color pieces, figure studies, composition and creativity. Teens can be better photographers than adults! You are less worried about taking a “bad” picture. You’re experimental and love taking pictures of your friends and life in general. Learn to take interesting portraits, stunning vacation photos, and document the life of a teen from your own unique perspective. Learn Photoshop, iPhoto, and other popular editing programs. No previous experience necessary but intermediate and advanced photographers are welcome. There will be group projects as well as individual instruction. Minimum Enrollment: 5
