The purpose of Visual Arts Center Professional Development Programs is to offer opportunities for professional growth in meaningful ways, using student internships, teacher training, and resources for artists and artists in residence. It is our mission to aid in the professional development of emerging artists, arts educators, curators and arts administrators in New Jersey by: using visual art as a tool for help foster personal and professional growth; developing institutional partnerships with New Jersey higher learning institutions, schools and art organizations; creating potential internships opportunities within our gallery; offering educational and administrative programs.

New Jersey Photographic Educational Conference
April 4-6, 2008

The Visual Arts Center of New Jersey is hosting the largest Photographic Educational Conference in the state. Utilizing the our state-of-the-art facility, an exciting weekend of workshops, speakers, vendor fair as well as a Faculty Gallery Exhibition will take place. Event highlights include Keynote Speaker Stephen Perloff, Editor in Chief of Photo Review Magazine, a panel discussion lead by George Schaub, Editor of Shutterbug Magazine, and a retrospective presentation and book signing by famous NJ photographer George Tice.
