Amanda Yoakum
Amanda Yoakum is a 2006 Graduate of Parsons School of Design, holding a BFA in Fashion Design. She was featured in Flaunt Magazine's September 2006 article, "The Graduates" for achievement in fashion design. Amanda is the Founder/Owner of YoaKustoms, a custom sneaker design business, featured in numerous online magazines, television, with various celebrity clients and a worldwide client base. She has exhibited at Gallery Bar NYC and is the winner of the 2009 Sole Collector's Clash of the Customizers, followed with an exhibition in Los Angeles, CA.

You’ve seen customized sneakers on your favorite media stars—now you can create your own. Taught by Amanda Yoakum, the founder of Yoa Kustoms, this class will introduce the very popular and creative art of sneaker customization to students. Each student will design and paint a one-of-a-kind pair of sneakers that reflects his or her unique personality and point of view. Fashion Design & Illustration

The exciting world of fashion will be brought to life in this class. Fashion illustration, the communication of fashion through drawing, will be explored by drawing from a live model, which teaches students the proportions of the figure, as well as how to drape fabric and accessories on a body. Step Up your Kicks: Customize your Sneakers (ages 9-12)

| | Sneaker customization gives students an afternoon to create their own wearable art. We will work to prep, design and paint on blank shoes to have a finished pair of custom kicks to wear around.
