| Acrylics are a highly versatile and expressive medium. In this workshop, students will gain a basic overview and working knowledge of acrylic painting techniques on both paper and canvas. A variety of methods will be demonstrated with emphasis on value, color and composition. Students may work from a still life set up by the instructor or from their own reference photos. All levels and styles welcome. |

Wax Carving: Making Stacking Rings in Silver or Gold

| This workshop focuses on teaching the techniques of creating jewelry using wax carving and construction. Wax allows the artist to create very fluid, intricate, and sculpturally exciting works. Once the model is completed, it will be cast into silver or gold. You may also mold it several times in order to create multiples. Depending on the design, soldering, setting and polishing will finish the piece. |

| Working in pastel, students will learn to create expressive paintings with an emphasis on staying loose and painterly. You have just bought your own digital camera; how do you look at pictures, how do you set up your camera, and what does resolution and image quality mean? This workshop will introduce you to the digital camera, how to define settings and show you how to transfer your pictures from the digital camera into a computer. Many of your questions will be answered. This is a hands-on course which allows student to use and practice on Mac computers.
