Portfolio Development Intensive

The Portfolio Development Intensive (ages 16 - 18) offers students the opportunity to develop their entrance portfolio for submission to fine arts colleges over the course of four weeks. Based on the curriculums and portfolio requirements of the top five leading arts schools, a specific topic is covered each week. Through demonstrations, hands-on exercises, and art history lessons, each topic will be closely examined. At the end of each week a class critique will be held to which parents/guardians are invited.

Master the application of one, two and three-point perspectives, explore the usage of vanishing points, and learn how to accurately portray interior and exterior space through the rendering of detail. All work will be completed in black and white.

Explore the figure and draw from live (nude) models. Learn how to achieve anatomical accuracy in figural renderings by learning about major forms and contours, measuring, sighting and the Canon of Proportions. All work will be completed in black and white.
