Summer Semester begins July 14.
Early Registration Discount: Register by June 2 to receive a $5 DISCOUNT on class tuition.
On-Time Registration: June 3 - July 7
Late Registration: Beginning  July 8 a $10 LATE FEE will be applied to class tuition.
 
Fall Semester begins September 8.

Would you love to master the world of anime/manga? Then you’ve found the right class! Students will learn all about Japanese/Chinese-style and comic book-style drawing. This class will cover everything from dynamic perspective to classic anime/manga facial features. Simple and effective techniques for drawing and creating concepts will be taught and students will begin to master their own unique style of creating anime/manga and comic art. This class focuses on the fundamentals of drawing and painting through direct observation of still life objects, landscapes and the human figure. Light and shadow, value and shading, and methods to create representational three-dimensional spaces are investigated in a variety of materials and techniques. Group and individual critiques and demonstrations reinforce concepts. Personal attention is given to each student to encourage individual understanding and progress.

This is the perfect class for teen students who want to learn about digital photography and DSLR camera systems. In this fun and experimental class, students will learn how to compose beautiful pictures and express ideas through photographic imagery. Topics will include basic camera operation: shutter, aperture, focal length, white balance and metering. Students will also learn to make basic adjustments using Adobe Photoshop®. Creative shooting assignments/projects will be given. Students should bring their own digital camera, a tripod if possible, and the camera manual to the first class.

Teen artists wishing to expand a portfolio using digital art, traditional art, and a combination of the two will enjoy this class designed especially for them. In Photoshop® students will explore using brushes, selections, blending, resolution and compositing in depth. How to properly capture images using scanners, digital cameras and the web will also be covered. Finally, students will learn how to professionally print archival inkjet prints. Skill sets learned here will further any student wishing to move into professional arts and design. This class is open to all levels of Photoshop® experience and is perfect for teens. With the learning of these tools we will have various new and exciting projects. Some of the projects will be: create your own book cover; change something in history; and change something about yourself, such as give yourself new hair or eye color or even a tattoo! This class is for students who wish to develop their drawing and painting skills to a further level. Using subjects such as still life objects, drawing from a model, perspective, color and composition, students will gain a stronger understanding of the crucial elements that make a strong piece of art. Drawing techniques using graphite and charcoal will be shown, as well as painting techniques including oil paints. A detailed demonstration, individual attention and personal critiques will be given every class. This class can also be used to help build and develop a portfolio for future college use or to organize a group of work into a cohesive collection.
