Discussion of glazes, glazing approaches, kiln construction, safety issues, as well as the meaning and aesthetics of Raku. Students will fire a minimum of 10 medium sized (more or less, depending on size) pre-bisqued pieces. Special techniques such as Terra Sigillata, “horsehair” and “naked Raku” will also be included.
