New Classes & Workshops

Each semester the Art Center offers new classes and workshops to enhance your skills, broaden your horizons and provide insight to a variety of subjects and media. New classes and workshops in every media are listed below - use the filters and drop down menus to sort the list.

Spring Semester begins April 9.
Early Registration Discount: Register by February 26 to receive a $5 DISCOUNT on class tuition.
On-Time Registration: February 27 - April1
Late Registration: Beginning April 2 a $10 LATE FEE will be applied to class tuition.

Winter Semester began January 9.


ATTENTION MEMBERS: If you joined or renewed your Membership by phone, mail or in person, you will need to activate your Online Membership with the Art Center to receive the Member Discount on classes. This class begins with a quick talk on how to achieve a successful still life painting. Media choices (acrylic, oil and pastel) will be considered to ensure vibrant results. With an emphasis on creating muscular, juicy forms and surfaces, you will learn how to bring Latin movement to your still lifes. Still life props are provided. Materials list available online.

In this personalized sculpture class, you can take your artistic vision from a glimmer of an idea to a finished work of art. With the instructor’s guidance tailored to each student’s needs, the results will be a personal expression of individual creativity. All skill levels and interest are embraced. We will move from introduction to sculpture to advanced studio work. The class includes theory and practical skills, addressing figurative, portrait, abstract, and an understanding of your work in today’s reality. Materials list will be discussed the first day of class.

Perfect for the beginner as well as the experienced painter, this general painting class places the emphasis on oil painting, but students may work in the medium of their choice. Each class will begin with a short talk or demonstration covering many topics such as subject matter selection, composition, layout and blocking, abstraction and pattern, development of form, color mixing, detail and finishing, as well as how to speak about art. Students will explore their inspiration and discover their vision.

Understanding color is key to your artistic development. This class will explore color theory, mixing, layering and usage. Sessions will include demonstrations and exercises, as well as free choice paintings where you can use, experiment and build upon new concepts. This class is perfect for the beginner as well as experienced painters. Participants can use the painting medium of their choice.
