Enhance your multimedia skills through classes in digital photography, Adobe Photoshop®, and graphic illustration.

Spring Semester begins April 7.
Early Registration Discount: Register by February 23 to receive a $5 DISCOUNT on class tuition.
On-Time Registration: February 24 - March 30
Late Registration: Beginning  March 31 a $10 LATE FEE will be applied to class tuition.

This class is ideal for any student who wants to focus on a photographic, design or fine art project, whether complex or simple. Past students have worked on building a portfolio, publishing a photo book online, preparing artwork for an exhibition, creating slide shows, or even just refining their Photoshop® skills. This class is not intended to be a print lab. Limited to 5 students to ensure personalized attention. The Monday morning class is co-taught by Joan Pamboukes and Peter Lester and limited to 10 students. Materials will be discussed the first day of class; bring a USB drive.

This course is designed for students who want to learn intensive studio lighting techniques for photographing objects in space, want to learn how to document their existing sculptures, paintings, and drawings, or want to learn proper lighting in general. Students will learn the art historical importance and creative possibilities of the still life genre through reading, looking, and making photos.

CLICK HERE FOR COURSE INFORMATION:
This class is ideal for intermediate and advanced photographers who wish to strengthen photographic concepts. During the session, emphasis will be placed on building a strong body of artwork. The instructor will review the evolution and history of the photographic medium as well as explore the artwork of contemporary photographers and the class will discuss the integrity and significance of photographic images. Shooting assignments will be given intended to get the mind working differently and shift students out of their comfort zones. Some of class time will be dedicated to studio work and making fine prints. During the session students will have at least two opportunities for critique. Presentation methods, composition, editing, and sequencing will be addressed. Materials will be discussed the first day of class; please bring examples of current project(s) on the first day if possible.

This in depth photography class for beginners is designed for students who want to learn how to take inspiring pictures and have fun with their point-and-shoot or DSLR camera. Topics include basic camera operation: shutter speed, aperture, camera modes and lenses. Creative concept will include depth of field, motion, time-exposure, lighting and composition. Students will also learn how to manage and present their photos, make basic adjustments using Adobe Lightroom® and Photoshop®, and learn how to make photo-quality prints on our fine art inkjet printers. Weather depending, field trips will be included to try out new skills along with fun shooting assignments. Students should bring their own digital camera and the camera manual to the first class; additional materials will also be discussed.

Lightroom® & Photoshop® have become the most popular image editing and management programs by Adobe®. This course will introduce students to the best of both, image editing and image management. Learn how to make pictures look great in Lightroom® while using Photoshop® for other image effects such as retouching, filters and making composites of multiple images. Students will be able to export finished work via computer or by printing in the lab. This course is designed for both beginners and those with some prior Lightroom®/Photoshop® experience.

This class is designed for students who want to learn about their digital point-and-shoot or DSLR camera system. Topics include basic camera operation: shutter speed, aperture, focal length, white balance and metering. Students will learn to adjust RAW images and make basic adjustments using Adobe Photoshop®. Students will also learn how to scan and make photo-quality prints on our fine art inkjet printers. Simple composition, presentation and lighting strategies will be addressed. Shooting assignments will be given. Students should bring their own digital camera, a tripod if possible, and the camera manual to the first class; additional materials will also be discussed.
