CLICK HERE FOR COURSE INFORMATION:
This course is designed for students who want to learn about their digital point-and-shoot or SLR camera system. Topics include basic camera operation: shutter, aperture, focal length, white balance and metering. Students will learn to adjust raw images and make basic adjustments using Adobe Photoshop® CS4 & 5. Students will also learn how to scan and make photo-quality prints on our fine art inkjet printers. Simple composition, presentation and lighting strategies will be addressed. Shooting assignments will be given. Students should bring their own digital camera, a tripod if possible, and the camera manual to the first class; additional materials will also be discussed.

Building on the Photoshop® skills learned in Level I, students will continue to gain proficiency in Photoshop® CS4 & 5. Complex techniques using curves, masking, selections, channels and specialized layer blending will be covered. Students can work on their own images and build a body of work. Through critiques, discussion and handouts, students will evaluate their own creative work flow. Prerequisite: Photoshop® Level I. Materials will be discussed the first day of class; bring a USB drive.
