This course is ideal for any student who wants to focus on a photographic, design or fine art project, whether complex or simple. Past students have worked on building a portfolio, publishing a photo book online, preparing artwork for an exhibition, creating slide shows, or even just refining their Photoshop® skills. Limited to 5 students to ensure personalized attention. Monday morning class is co-taught by Joan and Peter. Materials will be discussed the first day of class; bring a USB drive.

This course is designed for students who want to learn about their digital point-and-shoot or SLR camera system. Topics include basic camera operation: shutter, aperture, focal length, white balance and metering. Students will learn to adjust raw images and make basic adjustments using Adobe Photoshop® CS4 & 5. Students will also learn how to scan and make photo-quality prints on our fine art inkjet printers. Simple composition, presentation and lighting strategies will be addressed. Shooting assignments will be given. Students should bring their own digital camera, a tripod if possible, and the camera manual to the first class; additional materials will also be discussed.

This class is intended for a limited number of students who desire to create a personal digital media project or to continue to build upon an already started portfolio for possible exhibition. Students have access to Apple iLife®, Adobe Photoshop® CS4 & 5, Adobe Lightroom® and Epson® fine art printers. Limited to 5 students to ensure personalized attention. Materials will be discussed the first day of class; bring a USB drive. Pre-requisite: Basic computer skills, Photoshop® Basics or faculty review.
